Myotherapy & Remedial Massage can help with Pregnancy Pain

Book Online Below!

Pregnancy Pain most commonly affects the lower back, hips, pelvis, and ribs - and its pretty obvious why these areas are the ones that feel it the most, because they are all the areas that are most impacted by a rapidly growing bubba!

Symptoms include lower back pain and sensations of pinching, catching, pulling and compression; sciatica-like pain that affects the bum, hips and legs; Pelvic and Sacroiliac Joint pain from the pelvis expanding; hip joint pain; shortness of breath and pain on deep breathing; other leg pains like knee, ankle and foot pain and swelling.

You might also experience other muscle or joint pain or injury thats actually unrelated to your pregnancy, but want to find a therapist who can safely help you with this.

What kinds of treatments help Pregancy Pain?

The techniques we find that work the best for people with Pregnancy Pain include massage and Active Release of the hips and glutes, Myofascial Release for the lower back and ribs, taping for lower back and Sacroiliac stability and pain relief. Taping can also be used for fluid drainage for swollen joints - hello, cankles!
We can also safely use dry needling to provide pain relief and muscle relaxation.

Is it safe to get treatment while pregnant?

If you're getting treatment from a qualified and experienced therapist, then yes, it is absolutely safe to get treatment for pain while you're pregnant.
We hate to see pregnant women treated like they have a disease while they are carrying bub!!
There are certainly a lot of scary myths in regards to what is and isn't safe for you and your growing baby, but rest assured there are lots of safe and relieving techniques that can be used to ensure you don't need to grit your teeth and bare the pain as your body changes. We don't believe in making you wait until your baby is born before you can seek treatment for your pain.
We recommend making sure that you book with qualified, experienced and insured therapists at all times, especially if you are pregnant or suspect you may be pregnant.

Who should I see for Pregnancy Massage?

While all of our therapists are able to help, we do have a Myotherapist who simply loves Pregnancy and Pre/Post Natal care! Megan is here 5 days a week, including 3 week nights and on Saturday mornings. She has a deep interest in caring for women throughout pregnancy and beyond.

Get your treatment plan started!

Lets start with your Initial Consultation and Treatment.
A typical treatment plan for Pregnancy Pain depends very much on your situation - how far along you are, what kind of pain you're having, how intense it is and if you have any pre-existing pains that are being flared up during your pregnancy.
Most women find they come in every 2-4 weeks to start with, and bring the treatments closer together as they get closer to their due date and the pressure and weight becomes more uncomfortable.

See what others have to say

"This is my second pregnancy. I wish I knew about this for my first one! My back and hips get so sore and I can't find a comfortable way to lay down. Even breathing hurts sometimes. I feel so much better after I get my massage!" Katrina

"Thank you! I felt so much better after every treatment especially when the pregnancy waddle started!" Jess

"I got sciatica around 28 weeks and it was so bad! I would have really struggled without Myotherapy" Sarah

"The tape on my ribs is magic! So far I've only had vague rib pain today, dialled down from a 9/10 to a 3/10" Sam
